With its palm fringed beaches and a serpentine network of sparkling backwaters, Kerala is a photographers delight. With the Western Ghats on the East and the Arabian Sea on the West, Kerala presents a much layered topography ideal for shooting landscapes. The tropical weather and bright sunlight just adds to the character of the place, where life is unhurried and undemanding.
This slender coastal strip with 600 kms of glistening coastline and interconnecting backwaters has a diverse landscape with contrasting yet stunningly beautiful cultures. This is the place that has given us the dance forms of Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Koodiyattom, Thullal and Krishnanattam. Home to the ancient medicinal practice of Ayurveda, Kerala is also a leading exporter of spices.
The backwaters of Kerala are an interesting network of canals serving almost as a lifeline for the locals. One one hand is majestic Munnar with its tea gardens and wildlife while on the other hand are the pristine beaches of Varkala and Marari. The flora and fauna found in these places are as divergent as stunning. With the majestic Munnar on one side and pristine beaches on the other, Kerala will not disappoint you with a lack of photographical opportunities.
